Robert James Traut, 90, of Huntington Township was reunited with the love of his life, Doris, on Thursday, October 19, 2017. Born on February 10, 1927 in Cleveland, he was the son of the late Orrie and Ruth (nee Hayes) Traut.
Robert spent his younger years living in Elyria before moving to Huntington Township over 40 years ago. He served in the United States Army as a Medic. Robert retired from the A. M. Higley Construction company where he was a general foreman. He was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians, Jesus the Good Shepherd Mission, in Nova. Robert was involved with the Veterans for Peace and through his life he did his best to make the world a better place.
Survivors include his son Jonathan and daughter-in-law JoAnn Traut; grandchildren Jennifer (Seth) Busse, Ben Brushaber, Jason (Jenna) Traut, and Jess (Tom) Murray; great grandchildren Matthew Busse, and Luke Murray. Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife Doris (nee Morrissey) Traut in December of 2016.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, October 21, from 9 until the time of Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11 a.m. at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 240 State Rt 511, Nova, with burial following at Huntington TWP Cemetery.
