Robert “Bob” E. Gum, 75, of Norwalk, passed away Thursday morning, August 11, 2022, at Fisher Titus Medical Center.
Bob was born on July 12, 1947, in West Virginia, to the late Catherine (McCoy) Gum and William Gum.
Bob grew up in West Virginia before the family moved to Wellington. He was a skilled auto mechanic for over 45 years. Bob enjoyed living a simple life, but he was a hard worker who stayed busy. His work ethic and mechanical skills were passed on to his family.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Carol (Jamison) Gum of 47 years; children, Cathi (Lonnie) Schindley of Bellevue, Bryan Gum of Norwalk, Michael (Amanda) Gum of New London, and LisaMarie Gum of Norwalk; 7 grandchildren, Roy, Zidane, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Joseph, Morgan, and Samantha; 7 great-grandchildren, Payton, Gabriel, Oliver, Joey, Tyler, Callie, and Ava; siblings, Larry (Patty) Gum of Indiana, Roger (Carla) Gum of Indiana, Ann (Randy) Bailey of Wellington, Jean (Rick) Yeaples of Sullivan, Billy Gum of Ashland, and Catherin (John) Gajoch of Wellington.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jessica, and sister, Debbie (Glenn) Farnsworth.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 15, 2022, from 10 am until the time of funeral service at 12 pm at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857. The burial will follow in North Fairfield Cemetery.
