Robert “Bobby” E. Darby Jr., 34, of Wellington, died on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 in an accident doing what he loved to do, working on cars. He was born in Elyria on January 24, 1987 to Julie (nee Hughes) Rolfe and Robert Darby Sr. He attended Wellington High School and Lorain County JVS, graduating in 2005.
Bobby had been an electrician since 2005, and worked at Tri County Electric. He was a Honda enthusiast and truly enjoyed working on cars. Bobby was a member of many car groups including the Street Sleepers. He also enjoyed mountain bike riding and going to jump parks with his son. Bobby’s children and family were most important to him and loved them unconditionally. A truly selfless and compassionate person, Bobby would do anything for anyone. His kindness and sincerity will be remembered and treasured by the lives he touched.
Left to treasure his memory are his children, Christian Anthony Darby and Breonna Carpenter; fiance’ Valarie Schaefer; parents, Julie (Tim) Rolfe and Robert (Jodi) Darby Sr.; step sisters, Brittany Willbond, Amber Lynn; step brother, Matt Willbond; grandparents, Karen Frye, Joyce Darby; step-grandparents, Butch and Judy Wurtz; and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob Frye, Fred Hughes, Harold and Carol Rolfe and William Darby.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 from 2-4 pm at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main Street, Wellington. All attending will be asked to practice social distancing and wear a mask. A private service will be held for the family and burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery.
