Robin Sue Sawyer, 60, of Elyria, died Thursday, June 18, 2020 at home. Born on December 8, 1959 in Oberlin, she was the daughter of Helen (nee Boozer) Gott, and Richard Diller Sr. Robin was a lifelong resident of Wellington and 1978 graduate of Wellington High School, where she was a cheerleader and baton twirler.
Robin worked in optometry for 25 years in Wellington. She had played on bowling leagues and was a member of the Wellington Eagles. Robin enjoyed bird watching and cooking for family gatherings. She was known for her green thumb and love of plants.
Survivors include her children Angela (Joe) Petriella, of Grafton, and Mathew (Jeanine) Brattoli, of Wellington; grandchildren Antonio, Emilio, Isabella, Chelsea, Shelby, and Colton; and brothers Dennis (Sue) Diller, of LaGrange, and Richard Dillar Jr., of FL. Robin was preceded in death by her husband Chris Sawyer, her father Richard Diller and a brother Larry Diller.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, June 26, from 2-4 for a drive through visitation, where those who wish to offer condolences from their vehicles may do so, at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St, and then from 6-8 p.m. for a traditional calling hours in the building. In an effort to minimize risk to our families and staff, we encourage visitors to wear a mask if able. A private service will be held on Saturday and will be webcast at eastmanfuneralhome.com beginning at 11 a.m. burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery.
