Rodney Damron, 64, a lifelong New London resident, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at the Cleveland Clinic after a long battle with cancer. Rodney worked as a machinist at Empire Plow in Cleveland for 30 years.
He loved hot rods and building cars was his hobby. Rodney enjoyed cooking for his family and his specialty was biscuits and gravy. Above all, he loved being a grandpa.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy; mother, Inez Davidson; children, Rhonda (Jeff) Holstein, of AZ, Melissa McClain, of AL , Erica Crayton, of Cleveland, James (Mary) Reed, of Cleveland, Christopher (Marie) Mosley, of New London, Joe (Cynthia) Mosley, of Cleveland and Carrie Smith, of Lakewood; 19 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and sisters, Patty Hiser (Chris) and Lois (George) Dillon. He was preceded in death by his father, Ed Damron; brother, Carl Damron and stepfather, Carl Davidson.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 6 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main Street, New London, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. Condolences may be given at: www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
