Ronald Allen Sprinkle

Ronald Allen Sprinkle, 84, of Rochester Township, died Friday, November 25, 2022 at home surrounded by his family.  

Raised by the late Stanton and Marguerite (nee Ewell) Sprinkle, Ronald was born on February 26, 1938, in Cleveland and grew up in Huntington Township. With only 18 people in his graduating class, Ron attended Sullivan High School. While at school he met Janice, the two became high school sweethearts and were soon married.  

A farmer, Ron also hauled milk for a living. He was a member of the Rochester United Methodist Church. He liked singing, even performing with a quartet while in school. He put his family above all else and enjoyed their company.  

Ron loved John Deer tractors, loved to mow, and was always operating his heavy equipment to help out friends and family. One of his favorite pastimes was fiddling in his shop, where he spent countless hours. Ron had a love of Cadillac cars, and animals, most recently dogs and cats, and collected signs as well. Ron also enjoyed traveling and going to concerts. Proud of his work, he remodeled the house he was raised in from the basement up and enjoyed doing everything with his boys.  

In addition to his wife of 65 years, Janice (nee Pfeiffer) Sprinkle, Ron is survived by his children, Rex (Susan) Sprinkle, of Huntington, Rochelle Storrow, of Lexington, and Ross (Sheryl) Sprinkle, of Huntington; grandchildren, Kristen Peterson, Lacey LaMaster, Cooper Sprinkle; step grandsons, Jason and Matthew Stanfield; great grandchildren, Anson and Lylah and step great-grandchildren, Jake, Chase, Jenna, Jason, Ryan, and Jayden and 9 step great-great grandchildren. Ronald is also survived by his siblings, Donald (Ellen) Sprinkle, Donna (Paul) Keller, and Laura (James) Miller. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sherri Givins and a great grandson, Bryson Peterson.  

Friends and family will be received on Friday, December 2, from 10 a.m until the time of a memorial service beginning at 12 p.m at the Rochester United Methodist Church, 201 South State Street with Pastor Jim Ellis officiating. A private burial will take place at Huntington Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Rochester United Methodist Church.
