Ronald E. Stieber

Ronald E Stieber, 84, passed away on February 2, 2020 in Stein Hospice, Sandusky, Ohio.  He was born to the late Louise A. (Smith) and Adolph J. Stieber on November 29, 1935, in Norwalk, Ohio and was a lifelong area resident.

 He was a 1953 graduate of Monroeville High School, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, Milan Rod and Gun Club, and was a proud member and supporter of the NRA (National Rifle Association).  Ron had many skills and held jobs as a carpet layer, a landscaper for Paul E. Bleile, he was co-owner of Stieber Implement Inc.; in partnership with his father and brothers for over 30 years, selling Allis-Chalmers equipment.  He also worked as a car salesman, and heavy equipment operator for A.J. Riley Construction, provided transportation for Services for the Aging, and volunteered his time at the Norwalk Area Food Bank.

 Ron enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, trapping, outdoor sports, gardening, traveling with his wife to Las Vegas, and trips to Grayling, Michigan to spend time fishing with his family.  He also enjoyed his friends and the neighborhood euchre club. Ron especially loved going to his grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s sporting events and enjoyed supporting each one of them.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Marie C. (Missler) Stieber of Norwalk, Ohio, by his children, Dennis R. (Meg) Stieber of Norwalk, Ohio, Liz M. (Ed) Scheid of Monroeville, Ohio, Pam A. (Mark) Demko of Garfield Heights, Ohio, Kim M. (Jim) Kerner and Jeff M. (Tina) Stieber, both of Norwalk, Ohio. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, by his brother, Thomas (Diane) Stieber of Norwalk, Ohio and by several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, Ron was also preceded in death by his brother Richard “Dick” Stieber in 1990.

Friends may call on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St. Norwalk, Ohio 44857. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel St. Monroeville, Ohio 44847. Father Ron Schock will officiate. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
