Roy C. Greene Jr.

Roy C. Greene Jr., 94, of Wellington, died on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at the Laurels of New London. Born on February 5, 1926, in Brighton Township, he was the son of the late Olive (nee Ewell) and Roy Greene Sr. Roy was a Brighton School graduate and was a lifelong Brighton resident.

Roy was a dairy farmer for most of his life and drove a milk truck for a short time. For over 40 years he served as a bus driver for Wellington schools and worked his way up to busing supervisor and trained many other drivers. He was a member of the Lorain County Fair Board for 42 years and a member of the American Legion for 73 years. Roy was also a member of the Brighton Congregational Church. 

Roy is survived by his children, Linda (Bernard) Tobin, of Nova, Tom Greene, of Brighton; grandchildren, Michele (Doug) Twining , Chris (Erin) Greene and Emily Tobin; great grandchildren,  Tyler, Ryan, Samantha, Matt, Amy and Chris Jr., and great great grandchildren, Ryleigh and Zayden. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Jane Greene, siblings Walford and Kenneth Greene, Marjorie Smith, and Vivian Simonson.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, June 15, 2020 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main Street, Wellington, OH 44090. A drive through visitation will take place from 4-5 pm in the parking lot for those who wish to remain in their vehicles, and from 5-7 will be held inside the funeral home. A service will take place on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at the funeral home at 11:00 am with a burial to follow at Brighton Cemetery.

Due to the current COVID-19 circumstances, our goal is to keep everyone safe, therefore, we ask visitors to be mindful of current restrictions. We encourage visitors to wear a mask if able, and to follow social distancing guidelines.
