Ruby Marie Griffith, 86, of Collins, Ohio passed away peacefully on February 12, 2021 at Gaymont Nursing Center in Norwalk, Ohio. She was born on October 29, 1934 in Glen Daniel, West Virginia to the late Stewart and Julia Smith.
Ruby was a laid-back individual who had an appreciation for the simpler things in life. She loved the outdoors, cherished her grandchildren, and enjoyed watching wrestling on television or tapping her toes to a good country song. She worked for many years at the Aqua Marine Resort in Avon Lake and at the Brown Derby.
Survivors include her daughters, Karen Davis of Lorain, Ohio, Judy (Curtis) Killen of Collins, Ohio and Sherry Garza of Lorain, Ohio; siblings, Regina, Cosetta and Sunny Joe, numerous grandchildren, as well as several great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 60 years, Dallas Griffith.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, Ohio on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 from 5 – 8 p.m. where a service will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2021 beginning at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ken Hiser officiating. Guests to the funeral home are reminded to bring and wear a mask and be prepared for the possibility of having to wait outside if current reduced capacity limits are exceeded until room becomes available. Current social distancing and mass gathering guidelines will be observed. An inurnment is being planned in the Spring in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain. To coincide with Ruby’s love for animals, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Huron County Humane Society, 246 Woodlawn Ave., Norwalk, Ohio 44857.
