Scott Alexander Schroeder, 52, of Wellington, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 30, 2022, at home. Born on March 27, 1970 in Lorain, he was the son of Carol Dashiell (nee Easterwood) and Larry Burns. Scott grew up in Elyria and has lived in Wellington for several years.
Scott was a drywall finisher with the Local 505 Painters Union. Scott was a huge Cleveland sports fan, especially the Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed cookouts and gatherings with his family. Scott also enjoyed golfing, music and going to concerts. If you saw him around, he’d usually be caring his dog, aka his partner in crime, Winnie, and would most likely be scratching off one of his beloved lottery tickets. Scott was loved dearly by his family and friends. He had the biggest heart and was always there to offer a helping hand to anyone in need.
Survivors include his wife Tammy (nee Rowe) Schroeder; children Shana, Casey, Justan, Kennedy, and Destiny Schroeder, all of Wellington, and Christopher Green, of Glasgow, KY; grandchildren, Palmer and Brody Richmond and Aiden and Avery Schroeder; mother, Carol Dashiell; father, Larry and Kina Burns; step-father Sam Schroeder; and siblings Jennifer Burrows, Samantha Caldwell, Danielle Dashiell, and Debi Hammonds-Mcgee. Scott was preceded in death by his step-father, Mike Dashiell and brother, Chris Hammonds.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made with donations to the Friendship Animal Protective League, at 8303 Murray Ridge Rd, Elyria, 44035, or on their website, friendshipapl.org.
A private family graveside ceremony will be held at Greenwood Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held June 5, 2022, from 12 p.m. (noon) until 4 p.m. at the Wellington Eagles, 631 S. Main Street, Wellington, 44090. Norton-Eastman Funeral Home is assisting the family and expressions of sympathy may be shared online at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
