Seldon Hale, 84, of Greenwich, OH, died on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at his home. He was born on April 6, 1936 in Mid, KY, the son of the late Alma (Howard) and Linzie Hale. Seldon grew up in Gunlock, KY. In 1960 he married Charlene Wireman and they moved to Greenwich, OH. They shared nearly 60 years together until her passing in 2018.
Seldon proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the former Greenwich American Legion. Seldon worked construction for Chapin and Chapin and then as a crane operator with Norwalk Waste Material where he retired in 2007.
Seldon is survived by his sons, Bruce and Tim Hale of Greenwich; 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 3 step great-grandchildren; half-brothers, Henry Lee, John T., and Grover C. Hale. In addition to his parents and wife, Seldon was preceded in death by his sons, Mark Wade Hale and Bryan Hale; a grandson, Aiden Hale; a brother Sanford Hale and sisters, Ruth Oney, Oma Whitaker and Janice Marie.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 14, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at the Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery with Pastor Delmer Bailey officiating. The staff at Eastman Funeral Home, Greenwich assisted the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be shared at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
