Suzanne "Suzi" Elaine (Hawley) Sumerau

Suzanne “Suzi” Elaine Sumerau, 58, of Republic, Ohio, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021. She was born on March 14, 1963 to the late Joan (Hanes) and Arthur Hawley.  

She was a 1981 graduate of Attica High School, and after high school she joined the United States Army National Guard. Suzi married the love of her life on Christmas Day in 1998. Her grandchildren were the light of her universe; she loved spending time with them and being a part of their lives. Suzi also enjoyed traveling, sewing and other crafts, and caring for her plants (she had an amazing green thumb).  

Suzi is survived by her husband, Robin Sumerau; children, Cassandra Cassidy and Veronica (Joshua) Ackerman; grandchildren, Diedra Loera, Trinity Church, Charley Mullins, and Luna Dull; sister, Cheri (Steve) Cover; brother, Larry (Joyce) Warren; many cousins, nieces and nephews, including her niece, Tonya (Travis) Hawley Fox and her furry dog daughter, Percocet.  

In addition to her parents, Suzi was preceded in death by her brothers, Vance Hawley and Frank Hawley.  

Her family will receive guests on Friday, November 12, 2021 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London, Ohio 44857 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Nova Cemetery.
