Tatjana (Tanya) Sazdanoff, 88, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on June 5, 2022, after being diagnosed with Acute Leukemia in January of 2022. She was born on March 8, 1934, in Skopje, Macedonija, to the late George and Marie Smith.
Tanya or “BABA” (known as “grandmother” in her Macedonijan language), was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was a wonderful care giver to her husband Walter until his passing in February of 2022. Tanya enjoyed baby sitting all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always had a smile when they would visit and loved seeing the “granddogs” and “grandcats” as well. She truly looked forward to her daily visits and talks with her neighbor Thelma. Tanya had worked at Fanny Farmer and Meeks Pastry for a short time.
Tanya is survived by her son, Dennis (Dijana) Sazdanoff; daughter, Stella (Gary) Barman; brother, Nick Smith; grandson, Peter; granddaughters, Kathy (Mikey), Stephanie (Dan) and Jennifer (Dan); great grandkids, Alivia, Mason and Logan; step great granddaughter, Lilly; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Tanya was preceded in death by her husband Walter in 2022; brothers, Boris, Alex and Vasil Smith.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the team at Southern Care Hospice, Dr. Tim Adomowicz office, Fisher-Titus Medical Center, and Dr. Crosby’s office for all of the care and compassion.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022, from 12 p.m. (noon) until 1 p.m. at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. At 1 p.m. the family will process to Woodlawn Cemetery for a graveside committal service. Any memorial contributions may be directed to any charity of the donor’s choosing.
