Theodore E. Sawyer, of Lorain and formerly of Wellington, died at Mercy Health Lorain on May 30, 2023, of a short illness. He was born in Amherst on September 24, 1945, to parents Eugene and Phyllis Sawyer. He attended Keystone High School.
In 2002, Ted retired from Republic Steel (formerly US Steel). Upon retirement, he was a NAPA delivery driver.
He is survived by his wife, Victoria (nee Spearnock); sisters, Cindy (Don) Carter, of Lodi, and Jane Waldo, of Woodstock, GA; brothers, David (Juanita) Sawyer, of Amherst, Rick (Diane) Sawyer, of Westfield Center, OH, and Ron (Lori) Sawyer, of Tampa, FL; brother-in-law, Bob Stevanus, of Spencer, OH; godson (son), Richard and wife, Myra and their children, Brianna, Diamond, Hailey, Brittney, Richard, Greyson, and Olivia; and in-laws, George and Ann Spearnock. Ted was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Connie; sister, Bonnie Stevanus; brother, Donald “Pete” Sawyer; brother-in-law, Wally Waldo.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 4 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main Street, Wellington, where Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Brighton Cemetery.
