Thomas “Tom” E. Black
August 3, 1952 – September 17, 2021
Thomas “Tom” E. Black, 69, residing in Norwalk, OH, passed away peacefully, Friday, September 17, 2021 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky.
Tom was born in Tiffin, OH on August 3, 1952 to the late Thurman and Anna (Dugan) Black.
Tom graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School as a member of the class of 1970. He graduated from the State of Ohio Highway Patrol Academy and received the Ace Award for excellence in auto larceny enforcement. Tom later worked for Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station for 34 years as a security officer, retiring in 2017. In his spare time, Tom enjoyed being a member of the Norwalk Eagles, driving his corvette and riding his motorcycle. His greatest joy of all was his family, especially attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Nancy (Braker) Black, whom he married on March 5, 1993; daughter, Kelly (David) Mayle of Mantua, OH; grandchildren, Colton, Weston and Sadie; siblings, Caroline (Junior) Kuhn, Jim (Suzanne) Black, John (Joyce) Black, Steve (Nancy) Black and Bill (Julie) Black, all of Tiffin, OH; brother-in-law, Bill (Sharon) Braker of Norwalk and special person, Melissa Beaudet of Chicago, Illinois.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
