We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Wellington
Tracey Rapp Carey, age 55, of Wellington, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2022, at Mercy New Life Hospice, with her daughter and twin sister by her side. Her final days were spent in the prayerful and loving embrace of her family and friends.
Tracey is survived by her daughter, Chloe (Donald) Szypulski, granddaughters, Payton and MiKayla; grandson, Liam, of Austin, TX; her mother, Mary Lou Rapp; brother, David Rapp Jr.; sister, Marci Rapp, of Oberlin, OH; brother, Steven Rapp (Becky) of Atlanta, GA; aunt, Ruth Engler (Apalachin, NY), and cherished nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father David Rapp.
Tracey was known for her uncanny ability to make friends with everyone that crossed her path. Her engaging personality and beautiful smile would light up a room. Her quick wit and sense of humor was enjoyed by many. Tracey’s beautiful singing voice was recognized locally and nationally in singing competitions and she served as a cantor for the Catholic church.
As a 1985 graduate of New London High School, New London, Ohio, Tracey was involved in many choral concerts, played violin, and was a cheerleader. She excelled at home decorating and was a successful realtor for Keller Williams Bluegrass Realty, where she spent many happy years with her former husband, David Carey, in Louisville, Kentucky. She was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan!
We would like to thank the wonderful staff at Mercy ICU in Amherst and New Life Hospice for their attentive care of Tracey. We extend our deepest appreciation to Roger Dorsey of the Buckeye Bulldog Rescue, for continuing care of Tracey’s great joy, her dog Zola. “Zola the English Bulldog”, garnered thousands of followers on her own Facebook page.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 11:30-3 pm at Henry's Barn at North Star Preserve, 46223 US 20 Oberlin, OH 44074. Tracey's greatest joy growing up was her love of Arabian horses. Donations in Tracey's memory may be directed to Angels Haven Horse Rescue, 13297 Durkee Road, Grafton, OH 44044.
