Mr. William Keith Mourton of Rochester Township, Ohio, born April 12, 1945 in Oberlin, Ohio to the late William "Ed" and Ruth (nee Knapp) Mourton, was called home on November 3, 2018 at the age of 73.
A 1964 graduate of New London High School, he proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War receiving a Purple Heart. He dedicated his career working at Invacare for 40 years before retiring in 2007.
William was preceded in death by his wife Ellen (nee Lembke) Mourton of almost 37 years and is survived by his sons Joseph (Janette), Adam (Erin) and grandchildren Emma, Samuel and Madilyn which were his greatest joy; his brothers, Phillip (Suzanne) and Dave as well as his sister, Linda Gallatin, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and great nephews.
Bill enjoyed blacksmithing, spending time with his family and was an avid Civil War enthusiast. He served as an usher and trustee at the Rochester United Methodist Church where his family is in its 8th generation of attendance.
The family invites donations in his name to be sent to Rochester United Methodist Church, 201 State Street South, Rochester, OH 44090. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 7, from 4-7 pm at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington, where services will be held on Thursday beginning at 11 am with Rev Jim Ellis officiating.
